Insurance & Tricare

Yes. Anchored Physical Therapy and Wellness is a TRICARE-authorized, non-participating provider. You pay at your visit, and we give you a superbill (a detailed receipt with the diagnosis and treatment codes TRICARE needs) so you can file for reimbursement directly with TRICARE.
Staying non-participating lets us keep simple, transparent pricing and spend our time on your care instead of on insurance paperwork. It also lets us offer longer one-on-one visits in your home, which most in-network clinics can't do.
-
Pay at the time of your visit.
We send you a superbill through your email.
Submit it with a TRICARE claim form (DD Form 2642) to your regional contractor.
TRICARE reimburses you directly, minus any deductible or cost-share for your plan.
-
Physical therapy evaluations and treatment visits come with a superbill. These are self-pay only and are not reimbursable:
Dry needling
Anchored Pliability Assessment & Treatment
TRICARE doesn't cover preventive, maintenance, or performance-focused care.
-
Once your annual deductible is met, most TRICARE Select families pay about $38–$48 per visit after reimbursement — about the same as an in-network clinic copay, with the added benefit of one-on-one care in your home. Optional self-pay services like dry needling are extra.
Your exact cost depends on your plan, your sponsor's status and beneficiary group, and whether you've met your deductible. Contact us before your first visit and we'll give you a personalized estimate — no guesswork.
-
Our services are typically eligible for payment through Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards. However, HSA or FSA does not cover cancellation or booking penalty fees. Please check with your plan provider to confirm that your specific service or item is an eligible expense.
-
You can generally schedule directly with Anchored Physical Therapy and Wellness without a referral. As a TRICARE-authorized, non-network provider, your applicable deductible and cost-share will depend on your specific TRICARE plan and beneficiary status. We provide an itemized superbill to support your claim submission to TRICARE.

Yes, and it matters. Ask your PCM for a referral to physical therapy before your first visit. Without one, your visit may be processed under point-of-service rules, which means a higher deductible and cost-share. When requesting a referral, you may ask your PCM to refer you specifically to:
Anchored Physical Therapy & Wellness, LLC
Anna May Wisherd, PT, DPT
NPI #1073878013.

Active duty members require a referral through their military clinic for civilian care to be covered. The Point-of-Service option does not apply to active duty service members. If you choose to self-pay for a service that is not covered by TRICARE, a TRICARE non-covered services waiver must be completed prior to receiving the service. Active duty members who self-pay receive 20% off the initial evaluation and 10% off follow-up sessions.

No, we do not participate with or accept Medicare or TRICARE for Life in any capacity. Due to strict federal regulations, we are legally prohibited from billing these programs, providing superbills for their reimbursement, or treating traditional Medicare-eligible patients for covered medical services on a self-pay basis.
-
Many plans reimburse out-of-network physical therapy. We'll give you a superbill to submit. Check with your plan about out-of-network benefits first.

I serve Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River. Sessions can take place at your home, workplace, or another convenient spot on base.

North Carolina is a direct access state, meaning you can legally schedule an evaluation and begin physical therapy treatment immediately without a doctor’s referral or prescription. However, if you plan to utilize TRICARE benefits or submit a superbill for out-of-network insurance reimbursement, we highly recommend verifying your specific plan's referral requirements beforehand.
-
Because your care should be guided by your goals, not an insurance company's rules. Without visit limits or approval delays, I build your treatment plan around what you need, and every session is a full, uninterrupted hour devoted entirely to you. And with TRICARE Select reimbursement, many families pay about the same per visit as they would at an in-network clinic.
-
For your first mobile visit, please wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows you to move freely while also easily exposing the area we need to evaluate, such as shorts for a knee issue or a tank top for a shoulder injury. You do not need any special equipment because I bring all necessary assessment tools, exercise bands, and a portable treatment table directly to your home or office space.
-
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists' day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a $50 cancellation fee to the card on file.
